Our writing

The articles, Film Notes, photographs and design on this site belong to Frames North or to the people who licensed them to us. You may quote short passages with a link back to the original page, as critics and teachers usually do. Please do not republish whole articles or images without written permission.

Film titles, stills described in our pieces and the names of films and festivals belong to their owners. We discuss them for the purposes of criticism, review, education and news reporting.

Accuracy

We work hard to get facts right and we correct mistakes when we find them. Our guides to financing, rights and distribution describe how things commonly work; rules, programs and deadlines change, and every production is different. They are not legal, financial or professional advice. Check the current rules with the organisation concerned, and get professional advice before you sign anything.

Links to other sites

We link to other websites when they help a reader. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

Letters

When you write to us, you agree that we may quote from your letter in a correction or a reader response, without your email address. If you would rather we did not, just say so in the letter.
